Coronavirus is spreading fast and the world is in total lockdown. At least most of it is. Sports, like everything else, has been affected as well and cricket of course has taken a hit. The IPL is in limbo, all games are suspended and that basically means the stadiums are empty.

Well BCCI boss Sourav Ganguly has a solution as to how Eden Gardens, India's most iconic venue, can be used as a quarantine. In fact he has offered the indoor facilities to the government.

"If government asks us, we will certainly hand over the facility. Anything that is need of the hour, we will do it. There is absolutely no problem," Ganguly was quoted as saying by PTI.

In India alone there are over 500 cases and more than 10 people have died.

In fact the Hyderabad Cricket Association has also offered to set up a quarantine centre at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium.

"This, we feel is the moral obligation on our part in this hour of crisis as there are 40 big rooms which can take care of some of the virus-affected patients," the HCA said in a press release.

"With a lot of parking space, we feel it would be appropriate on our behalf to make this token gesture of appreciation of your (Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao) efforts," it added.

In fact earlier in Puducherry, the cricket board opened its dorms to treat patients. This is a nice way to put these rooms to good use when the game has been shut down. Coronavirus has taken over 20,000 lives and more than 400,000 people are affected. The disease which originated in China has spread fast. India is currently under a 21-day lockdown till April 14.
